Quarry Park occupies a 1495sqm rectangular site and is located adjacent to the Conservation Area of Ringmore in South Devon.

The original prefabricated bungalow was constructed in the 1920s and is significantly deteriorated with an odd and incoherent palette of finishing materials. The bay window and roof structures to the east and west are structurally and environmentally compromised. Overall the house is not fit for purpose and is not suitable to upgrade to an acceptable standard.

Our design proposal forms a modest dwelling, which through careful massing and using a sensitive palette of materials respects the site's location and landscape character.

The proposal has three distinct pitched roof elements. The living accommodation element and the guest bedroom element both sit centrally on the site, as with the existing property. The third element contains the master bedroom and en-suite accommodation, and is positioned to the south of the other two elements.
